Engineers today face challenges which encompass a multitude of disciplines; from physical design work, to electrical circuits, to computer programming. Modern engineers must be able to apply a variety of skills, in collaboration with others, in order to succeed.

Learn about computer-aided design, 3D printing, modern manufacturing techniques and coding as you work in teams to develop a prototype robotic rowboat. Your rowboat will be tested in open waters and must survive the elements.

Exploring the world of CAD design to design your own components, to be made with 3D printing.
Getting your hands on your designed 3D printed parts and fitting them to your robot.
Getting to grips with programming and using control loops and servo motors.
Learning about polymer technology, how different materials behave and how they are applicable to 3D printing.
Taking part in thought provoking masterclasses led by experts in the field.
Work at a world-class technology centre, and tour its workshop.
Finding out about a wide range of career paths that could be open to you.
Develop your planning, time management, communication, presentation skills, and commercial awareness.
Enhancing your CV and making your UCAS application stand out.
