Find out more about Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics - STEM with our STEM Club taster session. You will get to build an electronic circuit and loudspeaker. You will learn about the physics involved and find out more about how science and engineering benefits modern society.
Try our speaker project, in which you get to build your own loudspeaker and learn about electronic circuits and soldering. You will be introduced to essential electronic components such as resistors, capacitors, transistors and amplifiers. You will also delve into the physics of sound. At the end of the day you will have created a fully functioning speaker.
If your child has additional needs and will need you to stay with them throughout the 4 hour session please contact us. As space is limited, we cannot accommodate siblings, or family members other than essential carers.
The Smallpeice Trust has a wide range of STEM activities for children, this taster session introduces one of these to children in home education which, we hope, will lead on to many more sessions.
Please bring your own packed lunch. Drinks will be provided.
