Welcome to CyberFirst
From the moment you wake in the morning, technology touches your life in all sorts of ways – some big, some small, some you may not even realise. It delivers train timetables and traffic lights. It powers homes. It protects your medical records and your bank account. It’s in everything from gaming to music streaming; getting on a plane to calling a friend.
Life wouldn’t be the same without technology – so it’s up to us to protect it. In this modern age, when attacks on our digital infrastructure are more and more frequent, cyber security has to be our first line of defence if we want to keep our way of life safe.
That’s why we need CyberFirst. Working with schools, universities, businesses and government bodies, our initiative is training tomorrow’s cyber security community: people from all walks of life, all ages, all backgrounds, who want to learn the skills to safeguard our digital planet.
If you’re plugged into social media, smashing gaming records or just get tech, chances are you’re a cyber security specialist in the making. This is a CyberFirst world. Train for it.
We don’t just focus on theory behind cyber security. We let you experience it. The CyberFirst student courses are all about practical, hands-on learning and applied teamwork – with a promise to cut through jargon.
All of the courses are carefully designed to bring out every student’s potential. You’ll delve into how everyday technology really works; how the systems and software that surround us are connected to each other; how information flows through networks; and how we can take sensible steps to protect our digital world. Perhaps most importantly, everyone who does CyberFirst gains a strong sense of responsibility – to act safely, legally and ethically. Integrity is an underpinning principle of everything we teach and something that defines the cyber security profession.
The student courses are free and aimed at 14 to 17 year-olds; they are a mix of residential and non-residential and based at selected UK universities and colleges. Students must be British Nationals.
Prove you’ve got what it takes to safeguard our digital planet by applying for the opportunity to attend one of these CyberFirst courses:
CyberFirst Defenders (14 to 15 year-olds)
CyberFirst Futures (15 to 16 year-olds)
CyberFirst Advanced (16 to 17 year-olds)
