We are looking for freelance STEM Engagement Specialists to deliver engaging and practical activities that spark curiosity and confidence in young people.
You will run half-day, full-day and multi-day STEM events in schools and universities, and sometimes virtually. These sessions help young people understand how engineering connects to the things they care about.
You will plan and deliver sessions that are safe, well organised and fun. You will also help with preparation, communication and feedback to make sure every event runs smoothly.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with young people and wants to make a positive impact through education.
What you will do

Deliver inspiring STEM sessions to primary and secondary school students

Prepare materials and organise resources before each event

Work with teachers and partners to make sure sessions are ready to run

Help collect feedback and information for reports

Follow safeguarding and health and safety policies

Represent The Smallpeice Trust in a positive and professional way

About you:
You care about helping young people grow their confidence and understanding through STEM. You are organised, reliable and enjoy presenting or leading groups.
You will need:

An engaging, friendly and confident delivery style
-
Strong communication and organisational skills
-
A real interest in STEM subjects and education

A full UK driving licence and access to a car
-
Your own laptop and reliable internet connection
-
A willingness to travel and stay away when needed
It would be helpful if you also have:
-
Experience teaching, training or working with young people
-
Experience running workshops or residential activities
-
A recognised teaching or training qualification
-
A First Aid qualification or willingness to complete training

We are committed to keeping children and young people safe. All successful applicants will be asked to complete safeguarding checks, including references and an Enhanced DBS or PVG check, which we will arrange and pay for.
