We’re looking for a Head of Delivery to lead the planning and delivery of our national STEM outreach programme. This is a key leadership role within the organisation, responsible for ensuring that every Smallpeice experience is delivered to a high standard, safely, efficiently and with lasting impact.

You’ll lead a team of salaried and freelance STEM Engagement Specialists to deliver programmes across schools, community settings and residential events. You’ll be accountable for developing and implementing the Delivery strategy, managing budgets and workforce planning, and driving continuous improvement across the team.

This is both a strategic and hands-on role. You’ll be comfortable shaping delivery plans and leading people, but also willing to roll up your sleeves to support events that inspire the next generation of engineers.

What you’ll do

  • Lead and manage the Delivery Team, ensuring excellence across all STEM programmes.

  • Develop and implement the Delivery strategy and annual plan, aligned with our five-year organisational goals.

  • Oversee workforce planning, recruitment, and professional development to maintain a skilled and motivated team.

  • Monitor quality, safeguarding, and health and safety standards across all activities.

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across Schools, Communities, Content and Business Development to ensure smooth and coordinated programme delivery.

  • Use data and feedback to track progress, improve processes and inform decision-making.

  • Champion inclusion, accessibility and best practice in STEM engagement.

About you:

You’ll bring leadership experience in an education, outreach or community setting, with a clear understanding of what it takes to deliver high-quality programmes at scale. You’ll be confident managing people, budgets and delivery plans, and you’ll have a genuine passion for helping young people realise their potential through STEM.

We’re looking for someone who is:

  • An effective communicator and motivator of people.

  • Experienced in managing delivery or operational teams.

  • Skilled in planning, monitoring and improving processes.

  • Committed to safeguarding, inclusion, and creating positive learning environments.

  • Confident using systems and data to inform decisions.

  • Comfortable travelling across the UK to support programme delivery.

It’s a bonus if you have experience in the charity or education sectors, a background in STEM or education, or familiarity with project management tools like Monday.com.
