Era Shah is a Chartered Civil Engineer with over a decade of experience in the engineering and construction industry. She has led and collaborated with teams delivering major infrastructure projects in the UK, such as Crossrail, Thames Tideway, HS2, and now supports clients with strategic programme transformation within the sector.

Era’s success over the years has earned her industry recognition, including The Guardian’s ‘Top 50 Women in Engineering 2021’, ‘European Women in Engineering & Construction’ finalist 2023 and ‘Inspiring Women in Construction & Engineering’ finalist 2025. She has used this platform to speak on conference panels and in the media, from news articles to BBC radio, to encourage more students to pursue STEM, particularly engineering subjects.

As part of her advocacy and as Alumna, for the last decade, Era has supported the Arkwright Engineering Scholarship across its initiatives. Additionally, she hosts a podcast, ‘Chai & Chat Engineering,’ to highlight the achievements of successful women in engineering, particularly those from ethnic minority backgrounds, sharing insights about their career progression and industry experiences.
