This course is now open to all UK students currently in Year 12.
What will our cities look like in years to come? This course invites students to explore how engineers will help shape, design and develop our future cities to be cleaner, safer and more sustainable.
In this course, students will learn how engineers design and build environmentally friendly infrastructure and also manage and maintain existing infrastructure, ensuring its future sustainability. By completing this course, they will learn how they can contribute to the society of the future as an engineer.

Discover the environmental consciousness behind infrastructure development, where students not only learn from leading academics but also take part in hands-on activities including building bridges and testing their resilience using professional software, investigating the impact of autonomous vehicles on daily life, designing and testing a virtual building model, plus MORE!
Over three dynamic days, students will enhance their CVs and UCAS applications.
Students gain hands-on experience by building and testing infrastructure components and conducting small research projects in teams.

This course will feature the following:
Learn how energy can be generated whilst treating wastewater
Develop a hydropower solution to generate electricity in an old mill
Explore how engineers ensure that structures stay firmly rooted in the ground, dealing with the different properties of natural earth materials
Work together with undergraduate and graduate students to solve real-world problems relating to renewables
Learn how we may be able to work with our environment to make our living habitats more sustainable
