All throughout school I was really interested in Maths and Science, so I pursued them up to A-level where I was usually one of the only girls in the class. This led to me doing my degree in Chemical Engineering at the University of Manchester as it was a mix of all the subjects I had studied in Sixth Form. After university I wanted to work in an area which inspired children to engage with STEM subjects. The work The Smallpeice Trust does, especially with the emphasis on encouraging girls into STEM, resonates with my own experiences in the area and I love being a part of developing the next generation of engineers.
