Crank up your students this term with a BRAND-NEW STEM challenge – the Rescue Winch Challenge! This program invites students in Year 5 and 6 to step into the shoes of an engineer as they design, build and test their own Winch.
This challenge puts innovation and teamwork at the centre of learning; students will not only develop their confidence but develop skills that will take them beyond the classroom. This programme is delivered in partnership with My Energy Future, powered by OPITO.

The Rescue Winch Challenge offers an engaging and practical learning experience. Students will begin by exploring fundamental engineering principles, forces and winch mechanics. They will then take on the challenge of designing, building and testing their own rescue winches.
This immersive activity combines design technology, mathematics and science whilst developing key skills such as teamwork, problem-solving and creative thinking.
