What
This free online course is the first in a series of CyberFirst courses which start students on the exciting path to considering which GCSEs they will take and how computer science can play a key role in their career prospects. The aim of this course is to engage and encourage interest in cyber security and technology prior to students selecting their GCSEs and to counter the stereotype that computer science is a subject that only leads to jobs in programming and coding. Each course will run over two half-day morning structured sessions where the content will be delivered in our usual fun and interesting way.
How
On a CyberFirst Trailblazers course, you’ll learn about:
Go Create – Learn the basics of how to customise a website and generate enthusiasm to contribute to the World Wide Web.
Digital Detective – Use digital forensics to identify the first person who has contracted a disease and learn how open source intelligence can lead to finding out more information about this person.
Media Mogul – Look into how creative design, arts and technology work together. Take a closer view on how the media industry and advertising combine these elements while having the chance in teams to create your own advert sequence using stop motion.
