Matt has the important role of recruiting and training all new members of his team. And, having spent the last two years as an Senior Education Officer, he has the ideal set of skills and experience.
But Matt is also hands-on when it comes to creating and producing new activities and weekly travels the country delivering events and courses.
Still only in his 20s, he has an affinity with children of all ages.
“You need a down-to-earth approach with students and also need to be able to explain things very simply,” he said.
After he gained a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Liverpool University, becoming an Education Officer at The Smallpeice Trust was Matt’s first job.
“What keeps motivated is when students come up to me after a lesson or event and show me how proud they are of what they’ve made. Then I know we’re making a real impact on young lives.”
